Coronet Crown

Coronet Crown

Driving back from shooting the sunset on the shores of Lake Wakatipu near Kelvin Heights, I spotted the sun peaking through the clouds and casting a golden glow over the Coronet Peak Skifield. Everywhere you look in this part of the world you get little snapshots of magic.

Monochrome Mountain

Driving back from a road-trip out towards Kingston, this shot was taken from the side of the road that runs along Lake Wakatipu near Queenstown, New Zealand. The light had been decidedly average all day, and a storm had just recently swept through. I’d gotten a little wet and was generally about ready to pack [...]

Stirling Sunset

Stirling Sunset

I’d never been to the Stirling Ranges before this particular day. I knew all about Bluff Knoll, but what I didn’t know about was all the other peaks. It is a wonder place to drive through, and one I want to spend a lot more time exploring, especially in the fading or rising light. Unfortunately, [...]

Gone Fishing

Gone Fishing

This shot was taken at Green’s Pool beach lies in William Bay National Park just outside of Denmark, Western Australia. Normally, the beach is quite placid, sheltered from the ocean by a large ring of rocks. On this cold, blustery, overcast Spring day however, the swell was not so friendly. I’m not sure what this [...]

Window to the Worlds Beyond

Tekapo Night Sky

This is the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tekapo, New Zealand. The Sentimental Recollection Gazing upwards towards the views Tekapo has to offer of an evening serves as a vivid reminder to precisely how small each and every one of us is. Walking among the glacially carved valleys around this area serves only to [...]

Canning Sunset

Canning Sunset

For the first time in months, I went out shooting. My friend Liv decided we should go and shoot the sunset on Canning Jetty. It was *freezing* out there as the wind whipped across the water and the warmth of the sun disappeared, but some of the shots we got were well worth it. This [...]

Struggle

Struggle

This shot was taken on the Crown Range road, New Zealand highest sealed road. It must be a real struggle to survive up here, with lots of wind, snow and other generally inhospitable conditions. I really like the slightly spooky look of this tree, not to mention the beautiful colour the setting sun was providing. [...]

Snowbow

Snowbow

On my last day in Hobart during a vacation, I decided to drive back up Mt.Wellington. The weather had been pretty average the whole time I was in Tasmania, but it looked to be clearly (typical) right as I was about to leave. On a freezing morning, I was greeted with a real winter wonderland [...]

Home Time

Home Time

I’ve been in the USA for the last 20-odd days on business and I’m ready to go home. The problem with business travel is that it has a tendency to be draining, and in my personal experience, the week or two leading up to it also involves larger workloads, adding to the experience. I did [...]
